aarhus.nu

The mission of the art based website aarhus.nu is to mediate and create new perspectives within contemporary art and related fields of study.

As a project aarhus.nu was originally initiated with the intent to highlight the Danish city of Aarhus as a place conductive to a vital and exciting environment of contemporary art.

Today aarhus.nu has become the place where everyone with interests for contemporary art can be updated with current art events both on a local, national and international level. In addition to all of this, aarhus.nu fuels and explores a new cross-aesthetic and cross-cultural forum, where spheres of professions and interests connect.

aarhus.nu has its point of departure in the professional art debate as well as in the practicing art scene, wishing to discuss what art is and how it can be expanded into housing a more discursive, debating and organisational practice.

aarhus.nu has not arisen from a journalistic platform. On the contrary, aarhus.nu works within the given professional fields of art with its focus heavily fixed upon dialogue, debate and forms of expression.

The editorial team consist of Jan Falk Borup, Anne Dyhr and Else Ploug Isaksen all with a background as visual artists. In addition to the editors approximately 20 volunteers contributes to aarhus.nu.
