Dzamil Kamanger & Kalle Hamm (IR/FI)

Dzamil Kamanger (b.1948, Iran) and Kalle Hamm (b. 1969, Finland) work together to explore cultural interaction and the global movements of plants and people. Their works occupy an intermediate zone between art, design and handicraft and their themes range from imported colonial produce to stories from abandoned Iranian villages. In Kamanger and Hamm’s works the personal is political. They explore ideas of masculinity and origin, and comment on the state of a world based on traditional cycles of goods and people. Their works are often process-based and site-specific.
