Sadie Plant (UK)

Sadie Plant (b. 1964, England) is a philosopher, cultural theorist and author. She received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Manchester in 1989, and in 1995 went on to found the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit at Warwick University. Plant has written books like The Most Radical Gesture: The Situationist International in a Postmodern Age (1992), Zeroes and Ones: Digital Women and the New Technoculture (1997) and Writing on Drugs (1999). Zeros and Ones offers an alternative, feminist account of the history and nature of digital technology. In addition to her books, Plant has written for English language newspapers and magazines as varied as the Independent, the Financial Times, Wired, Adbusters, and the New Statesman, as well as more specialised journals, books and catalogues in the fields of architecture, art, and new technology.
